What is BlagSound?

BlagSound is a new kind of music website dedicated to providing free music downloads for real music fans, while still rewarding artists for the music they make.

What do I get?

You get up to the minute news, reviews, and interviews with the best breaking artists. Plus, when you register you will receive regular emails (once or twice a month at most) that keep you up to date with all of the free downloads that we’ve got for you. I’m an artist. If it’s all free, how do I benefit?

When you put a free download track on BlagSound, it gets whole new audiences listening to your music. It allows you to reach more people and gets them engaging with your sound. You will be featured in our regular newsletter that is sent to all of our users. It will drive traffic to your social networking site and give you direct access to a new wave of fans who love what you do. Everyone’s a winner. So what do you guys get out of it?

What, apart from the overwhelming satisfaction of connecting up and coming bands with a truck-load of new fans? Well, all of BlagSound’s articles carry online advertising which takes care of some of our costs. We just stomach the rest of the financial burden (which admittedly isn’t much), we’re nice like that.

How do I get my band on BlagSound?

Get in touch, of course. For reviews, interviews, features, announcements and track downloads, feel free to drop us a line at artists@blagsound.com. Please include links to your band’s website and/or social networking pages and, if you want to be reviewed or submit a download track, please attach the relevant track(s).

Can I write content for BlagSound?

We’re always looking to hire talented new reviewers. We recruit reviewers primarily from UK student media. We look for reviewers who are passionate about new music and looking to expand their journalistic skills. Being a BlagSound reviewer is a voluntary role, though you’ll have the chance to hone your reviewing skills, to widen your knowledge of and contacts in the music business and to get your work published. Repeat contributors will also get their very own ‘@blagsound.com’ email address. If you’re interested in writing content for us, send a music-based review of no more than 500 words to writers@blagsound.com, along with any previous relevant experience that you feel will help your application.
