Britpop legends Blur have confirmed that they will be headlining the Olympics’ Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park on 12th August 2012.

The band’s last major London appearance was a string of shows in Hyde Park and they will be returning to signal the end of the games this summer, after weeks of speculation.

Also on the bill are The Specials and New Order.

Blur are currently gearing-up for a show at the 2012 BRIT Awards tonight (21st Feb) where they are due to be honoured with a lifetime achievement award, 21 years after debut album ‘Leisure‘ was released.
